Case: # 2011-27
Location: Rolling Hills Asylum, Bethany, New York
Claims:
The claims of resident activity and 1st person account run too long to list. The former Genesee county poorhouse was the home to a number of people. Raymond is one of the more particular spirits, Roy is another… the tall man. To a certain degree these are backed up with documented records. It has served as a number of functions most recently a seniors home.
Investigation:
This investigation, was a public one. There were 25 people in the building, this hindered progress to an extent. The areas of the increased activity we didn’t feel too much or experience much. The classroom there was a loud bang in the closet, in the owners room top floor the closet door shut. In the basement we did have a temperature drop that seemed pretty impressive. Overall however the night was very quiet. We didn’t experience very much. But an enjoyable interesting place to investigate
Conclusion:
Inconclusive, we did get EVP hits but we discarded them all due to the contamination factor. Unclear as to legit status of the haunt.

Case: # 2011-27-2
Location: Return Visit, Rolling Hills Asylum, Bethany, New York
Investigation:
For St Patrick's day, CHAPS decided to re visit Rolling Hills in East Bethany NY. All 3 of our offices would collaborate on this investigation, a public hunt. The building itself is a very interesting location. I'd dare say that we'd consider doing this privately as we have done to a number of other "public" locations. There was definitely a challenge presented in that there were 45 people there that night, although 13 of them were us. In a situation such as this, there is always conflict of personality and style. Noise contamination was the largest problem. Ferrying the teams in and out of rooms that may be filled with other teams, sadly fighting for dominance. We had some of our own thoughts debunked and or presented with a summary. The man at the end of the hall, the eye works funny and when focusing on the end of the hall, which is adorned with emergency lights of differing colours, paradoelia is easy to attain. We would really mark this to effect. Actually a picture was taken of Dave that was sure to be paranormal til further examination revealed the person. The noise of feet on the roof above, settling and contraction. The KII meter going off, well this was happening when the tour guide was speaking through her belt speaker microphone system. The rooms seem to change layout and purpose. One of the concerns brought to us by a member. This was a poorhouse and a seniors home. There is a kitchen in the basement that was reported to have been a morgue, with a preparation room. The drainage didn't exist there for it neither would a prep room exist in a place such as that. The Genessee county hospital was nearby, there maybe would be a holding room. Also the shock therapy, also not sure of I would hazard to guess further historical research might provide opposite to some of the claims. In the church a cross, stated a very old one at that adorned with stapled Christmas lights, there is doubt a clergy with conviction may have not done this. Our job as paranormal investigators is to look at the cynical size of things...not just to be believers. I'm afraid, for much of it the claims mirror every place. From the angry people to the little boy that runs around and plays with balls. For us, it was a very cool place. That may indeed have some spirit life, however in two trips and 4 investigative teams we have no evidence so we cannot claim anything other than a cool location.
